AIA Response to Potential Executive Order

The AIA is aware that there is a draft executive order circulating for consideration by White House officials that would officially designate “classical” architecture as the preferred style for several Federal building types. The AIA Advocacy team has been working on this issue and AIA released this statement in strong opposition to the draft order. Letters have also been sent by 2020 AIA President Jane Frederick, FAIA, and by a group of 34 AIA National Past Presidents. Additionally over 11,000 member letters have been emailed to the White House, and the AIA continues to work against this initiative in its lobbying efforts. Learn More

2020 Candidates for Elective Office

Ten AIA members have declared their intent to pursue the offices of 2021-2023 At-large Director, 2021-2022 Secretary, or 2021 First Vice President/2022 President-elect at the 2020 AIA Conference on Architecture.

AIA members interested in standing for election to the offices of 2021-2023 At-large Director, 2021-2022 Secretary, or 2021 First Vice President/2022 President-elect at the 2020 AIA Conference on Architecture must be certified by 5pm ET, Friday, March 13, 2020. Learn More
