Launch of TriMet’s Regional TOD Plan
Presenters: Guy Benn, TOD Program Manager & Fiona Lyon, TOD Design Manager
TriMet’s Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) team has just published the agency’s first Regional Transit-Oriented Development Plan. Come join TOD Program Manager Guy Benn and TOD Design Manager Fiona Lyon as they share how the Plan will enable the agency to promote and deliver equitable development, increase ridership, provide essential housing, promote transit accessibility and deliver significant environmental, infrastructure, community, and economic benefits.
The Plan was developed with input from external and internal stakeholders and funded through a grant from the Transportation and Growth Management program- a joint initiative of the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development. The Plan builds upon TriMet’s Board-approved TOD Guidelines, adopted in May 2020, and outlines the steps TriMet takes to support and promote TOD across the region by addressing why, where and how TOD occurs. Because each site, corridor, and station area has its own considerations, the plan is organized into five distinct sections covering different TOD aspects. It also shares how stakeholders can get involved in site prioritization and planning decisions, and provides transparency as to the avenues of participation for our stakeholders and partners.
TriMet’s TOD Program welcomes your support, voice, and partnership in helping to grow and shape our region in a sustainable way. To learn more about the TOD plan and program, and share feedback, go to https://trimet.org/tod or connect with the entire team at tod@trimet.org.
