The AIA Oregon Virtual Happy Hour is open to all who wish to get together and share experiences, ask questions, and connect with and support each other, focusing on various topics.
This week’s Topic: Energy Policy Advocacy
Presented as part of Sustainable Building Week
The energy code establishes the floor of energy performance for new and renovated buildings in Oregon, and it is the one energy performance standard applicable to all building improvements that require a permit. Join Mark Heizer, PE, mechanical and energy code engineer with the Oregon Building Codes Division and members of the AIA Oregon Legislative Affairs Sustainability sub-committee to discuss how the energy code is adopted, how BCD is aligning the Governor’s Executive Order 20-04 with energy code planning, and potential state-level advocacy related to 2030 goals. As a group, we will discuss if Oregon is doing enough to raise the floor, and how we can address the barriers that impede improvement.
The events will run an hour or more - feel free to drop in and out at any time during the event. You do not have to be a regular member of any group to attend - all AIA Oregon members are welcome.
