Oregon Wildfire Response Update

The cooler, rainy weather has allowed the fire fighters to better contain more of the fires across the state, and the response continues to transition from life safety protection to recovery planning. The State of Oregon, impacted counties and community organizations are leading the recovery effort and have many resources available. We’ve provided links to many fire response and recovery resources on the AIA Oregon website.

Groups from AIA Eugene section and AIA Southern Oregon section have started meeting to determine how we, as active members of a professional associations and as individuals, can help the impacted communities around us recover.

AIA Oregon Design Annual

Open Call for Design Annual Contributors!

Each year the AIA Eugene Section publishes the Design Annual. Following our consolidation into a single-state Chapter, this year we’re opening this publication to contributors from across Oregon.

The Design Annual serves two main purposes. It shines a light on Oregon design while also serving as a platform, in years past, to publicly announce the winners of the Eugene People's Choice Awards. For 2020 it will also include the results of other awards programs including the Oregon Architecture Awards.

A Letter From the UO College of Design - Mentoring Circles

Dear alumni and professional allies,

Due to the isolation caused by the pandemic, human connection is more important than ever. Our students are eager to learn about what it’s like to be involved in designing the built environment. Could you help them by connecting to students this fall? We hope that the small commitment of 3 to 4 meetings over 10 weeks can open up the opportunity to form ongoing relationships.

Mentoring Circles Participants will come together virtually to meet each other in small, informal groups. Each group will be led by a professional (or two) who guides up to six mentees in a conversation about a topic of common interest.
