AIA Eugene Design Annual - Call for Articles and Ads!

AIA Eugene wants you to be part of this year’s Design Annual publication!

With a distribution to over 50,000 businesses and residents in Lane County, and untold numbers of online readership, The Register-Guard is an excellent place to advertise your firm or business.  The Design Annual will be published and included in the Wednesday, December 11th issue of Register-Guard including being published online.

The focus will be on “Healthy Downtowns: Park and Public Space Design”.  Our cities continue to change, with much focus on the heart of the downtown experience.  As a collective of professional thinkers, designers and do-ers, we’d like to show that architects transcend discussions and debates and produce real built work---the ultimate impact on our environment. The winners of this year’s People’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice and Colleague’s Choice will also be included in the insert.

Please join us in raising the visibility of our members and our industry, highlighting the section’s recent accomplishments, and sharing the quality and value of our work in the community.

Call for Section Directors-Elect

AIA in Oregon reorganized at the start of this year from four local chapters and the state council to a single state chapter (AIA Oregon) with five local sections (AIA Bend, AIA Eugene, AIA Portland, AIA Salem, and AIA Southern Oregon).  The former model included five boards, each with about a dozen board members to a single Board of Directors with 11 voting members.  This includes a Director from each Section.

The Section Directors are expected to perform two very different duties; one is an active board member engaged with running the Chapter and directing the Executive Vice President, and the other is to lead the activities of the local sections.  The term for a Section Director is two years.
