As a musician and an architect, David M. Powell, FAIA, has eagerly embraced his role as the champion of Nashville’s built environment. Drawing inspiration from the city’s legendary songwriters, his work has nurtured Nashville’s remarkable growth over the last three decades. In all of his work as a designer, advocate, and leader, Powell has ensured that this growth remains steeped in context and history, celebrates Nashville’s cultural vernacular, and protects its unique characteristics.
