2021 Film Challenge is Now Open

The AIA Film Challenge 2021 invites you to share stories of architects, civic leaders, and their communities working together to achieve a zero-carbon, resilient, healthy, just, and equitable built environment. This year, we’re asking for 1:30- to 3-minute short documentary films that you can produce from any device.

  • October 2021 - Winners Announced

A panel of judges will select the Grand Prize, Runner Up, and Third Place winners. There’s also a People’s Choice Award selected by the public. Grand Prize includes $5000, and film screening at celebration event.

Call for submissions: 2021 Design for Aging

This competition recognizes innovative design solutions that improve quality of life for aging communities. Submissions will be evaluated against the AIA Framework for Design Excellence, among other criteria. New for 2021 is an affordability category. Submissions are due by 5pm ET on July 15. Learn more >

Call for submissions: 2021 AIA Upjohn Research Initiative grants

The Upjohn program funds up to six research grants of $15,000-$30,000 per recipient annually for projects completed in a 6- to 18-month period. Research should be relevant and applicable to practicing architects and correlate to the priorities outlined in AIA's Climate Action Plan. Deadline: September 1, 2021.

Member CES audit

Each year we conduct a CES Member Audit, ensuring members complete their 18 LUs, 12 being HSW. We will notify those selected for audit of their pass or not passed status. However, we willautomatically waive all audited members who did not pass. No action is needed. Please note, this pertains only to the AIA CES member audit and not local licensing jurisdictions.
