About: Join us as we tour the Iron Fireman Collective, a historic 1920’s building located in the heart of Inner Eastside Industrial Corridor. Originally constructed for a manufacturer of residential furnace parts this industrial building was renovated to host small businesses, light industrial and commercial manufacturing. Join Byron Balogh, the project architect responsible for leading the tenant improvements for this adaptive reuse project and the developer/operator SKB as they describe the highlights & challenges that they encountered through out this multi-year renovation. Now home to a vibrant community of manufacturing, production and high-tech creatives, don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the process it took to usher this 146,000 sq ft building into its new chapter as a hub dedicated to Portland’s makers & manufacturers.

The tour will culminate at the main lobby for a chance to ask questions of the presenters, network with fellow SFx community members and enjoy beverages from Ruse Brewing, whose taproom is in the Iron Fireman Collective building. First round of drinks is complimentary thanks to our SFx sponsor, Portland Millworks!

All are welcome - Free for AIA Members and Students, $20 for non-members.
