Digital Design Series - Enterprise Green Communities: Certifying your Affordable Housing Project

Join us in an online workshop for an introduction to the 2020 Enterprise Green Communities Criteria. Enterprise Green Communities is the only national green building program designed explicitly with and for the affordable housing sector.

We’ll discuss how to move through design and construction to operations with the 2020 Criteria for projects in Oregon.  What’s required? What’s recommended?  What are the most often overlooked details?  By the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to identify what is required for Certification and understand the benefits of certification for their project.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Learn methods that promote healthy, efficient, resilient affordable housing through our 8 criteria categories.

  • Learn how to help multifamily projects reduce overall energy usage, water usage, and lower monthly utility bills, while simultaneously developing healthy indoor environments for occupants and achieving a WELL certification.

  • Master how to maximize resident wellbeing through design and construction choices guided by the 2020 Criteria and through the mandatory integrated design process in the Criteria which centers around resident engagement.

  • Become familiar with our certification process from timeline, point requirements, and technical assistance, and locate online resources to help with certification including the 2020 Criteria, checklists, certification portal, and certification templates.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Property owners interested in Enterprise Green Communities certification should attend to clearly understand what is, and is not, required of the program.  Other project team members are encouraged to join as well, so that roles required in certifying a property can be clarified.  The audience may include, but is not limited to, development staff, architects, engineers, HERS raters, and construction managers.
