This course will provide an understanding of the changes between current 2018 IBC based Oregon codes and the new 2021 IBC based Oregon codes. It will also enhance the attendees knowledge of how to interpret and apply key code provisions that apply to most buildings. There will also be information on process changes for building and energy codes within Portland.

The 2-hour presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the speaker, as well as an overview of key updates and resources for the Oregon Building Codes Division website with a special focus on energy, hosted by Jody Orrison, Senior Plans Examiner at the Bureau of Development Services, City of Portland’s Life Safety Plan Review Section.
