Stucco EFIS and Continuous Insulation
1 LU/HSW

Stucco and Exterior Insulation Finish Systems (EFIS) have been widely and successfully used for many years on residential and commercial building projects. In response to changes in building code requirements, manufacturers have developed new stucco and EFIS systems. These enhanced systems are designed to provide buildings state-of-the-art protection from the elements and long-term performance.

This seminar will educate participants on:

  1. Thermal, air, moisture and vapor control layers, materials and installation requirements under the IBC and ASTM.

  2. How the new systems are designed to protect the building enclosure from unwanted moisture accumulation, material degradation and reduce the potential for mold growth.

  3. Key details, specifications and on the proper installation of stucco and EIFS

Learning Objectives
1. Discuss the thermal, air and moisture barrier systems, materials and installation requirements under IBC and ASTM

2. Analyze new product systems and how they comply with the requirements of the IBC and ASTM

3. Examine air and moisture protection and thermal properties of continuous insulation systems such as Stucco and EFIS

4. Study the characteristics and proper installation of: a. Air, water restive barriers. b. Drainage systems and flashing c. Stucco and EFIS
