Embodied Carbon of Net Zero Energy Buildings

Presenter: Dylan Lamar, Cultivate, Inc.
Net Zero Energy buildings reduce carbon emissions due to the operation of the building, but what about their embodied carbon? We'll review a recent LCA study of an existing Net Zero Energy multifamily building exploring this question. Results examine the full picture of embodied carbon, including envelope, interiors, MEP systems and refrigerants, and compare this footprint with operational carbon emissions over time.
