Samir Mokashi, Principal at Code Unlimited, will be teaching a 2-hour code seminar, “2019 OSSC Updates". The 2019 Oregon Structural Specialty Code went into effect on October 1, 2019 with a 3-month phase is process (either the 2014 OSSC or 2019 OSSC can be used as basis of design for permit submittal). The course will focus on understanding the changes between the most recent Oregon codes and the 2019 OSSC adoptions, including 2018 IBC codes. Regulations on the issues common to most building types and those that may be commonly misunderstood or misapplied will be covered. This course will explain what changed, why it changed, and how to apply these updates correctly in your projects.

The presentation will be held at the Portland Center for Architecture at 403 NW 11th Ave in Portland on Friday, January 10, 2020 from noon to 2:00. The program will be broadcast live to venues in Bend, Eugene, Salem, and the Medford-Ashland area. Continuing Education credits will be available to those that participate at any of the five locations noted above.
