Oregon State University, which is internationally recognized as a leading natural resources university, is building a complex to accelerate its forestry education programs and research on advanced wood products.
The Oregon Forest Science Complex will encompass the construction of the George W. Peavy Forest Science Center and the A.A. "Red" Emmerson Advanced Wood Products Laboratory; showcase innovative uses of wood in building design; and allow the College of Forestry to help meet the world’s growing demand for energy efficient, tall buildings made from sustainable building products.
Please join AIA Eugene for a presentation and guided tour of Oregon State University’s recently completed Peavy Hall complex. Hosted by the TallWood Design Institute, a collaboration between OSU and UO, this tour will highlight the innovative use of wood and mass timber products In an academic project. Please wear long pants and leather-type shoes for walking the site. The other required PPE will be provided.
