The AIA Leadership Summit 2023 (formerly Grassroots)

The name for the former AIA Grassroots Leadership Event has been rebranded to reflect the event’s purpose and target audience—our leaders. The new name is The AIA Leadership Summit.

The event officially starts on Tuesday, February 14 at 2pm and ends on Friday, February 17 by 12pm at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. The hotel rate is $269 per night plus taxes of $14.95% at this time. Registration will be open in December. Learn more >

AIA releases latest 2030 Commitment results

WASHINGTON – October 6, 2022 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) By the Numbers report for 2021 showcases the annual performance of the architecture and engineering firm signatories of the 2030 Commitment. The By the Numbers report can be explored on AIA’s website.  

With buildings contributing almost 40 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, architecture and design firms have the opportunity to transform their practice and contribute to significant emission reductions. The AIA 2030 Commitment offers architects and engineers a way to publicly show their dedication and track progress toward a carbon-neutral future by working toward the goal of carbon-neutral buildings by 2030.

Firm billings for August 2022

AIA's Architecture Billings Index, a leading nonresidential construction indicator, is free to AIA members. August’s ABI score of 53.3 continued to indicate strong business conditions at architecture firms. Firms also reported client willingness to invest in improving energy efficiency has increased in recent years:
